"Our vision is a country where human rights is fully practiced in Mental Health and there are no victims of ill treatment or torture"
Executive Director, Steve Green
Yes, we were established by the Church of Scientology in 1969
We are an independent organisation and were proudly established in 1969 by the Church of Scientology and Professor of Psychiatry Dr. Thomas Szasz at a time when patients were being stripped of all constitutional, civil and human rights in institutions.
We are the only organisation in New Zealand doing what we do, and that's what sets us aside from others. We work with a dedicated team of professionals across all religious denominations including Doctors, some Psychiatrists, Lawyers, Scientists, Business Professionals, Artists, Human Rights representatives, Educators, Community Groups, Legislators, Mums and Dads, Youth and Volunteers, who all believe that
'everyone has a basic human right to obtain safe and ethical mental health treatment.'
Most importantly our service is free and not funded or bound to any governmental bodies.
100% New Zealand
We are an ordinary group of every day people who are focused on Human Rights in Mental Health and ensuring people can make fully informed decisions so that they or their loved ones can receive the care they deserve. We also work towards creating positive results for those who have experienced unethical services and poor outcomes.
